What is Super Raffle

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE SUPER RAFFLE Michigan License R14678 Official Rules and Regulations (House Rules)

General Information:

The sponsor of this raffle is Friendship Circle, a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  The license number for this raffle issued by the Charitable Gaming Division of the Michigan Bureau of State Lottery (“Bureau”) of the State of Michigan is R14678.  All net proceeds of this Raffle shall be divided equally among Jewish Community Center (JCC), JARC, JVS and The Friendship Circle and will be used solely for the benefit of people with developmental disabilities served by the respective organizations.  Each organization is a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  No refunds shall be allowed, except in the event the raffle ticket is not accepted by Friendship Circle or if the Raffle is not or cannot be conducted as scheduled and an alternate raffle is not planned, at the sole discretion of JARC.  In the event of any conflict between these Rules and the rules, regulations, and directives of the Bureau, the rules, regulations, and directives of the Bureau shall control.  This Raffle shall in all respects be conducted in accordance with the Michigan statutes and the rules, regulations, and directives of the Bureau.

Tickets and Prizes:

There will be a maximum of 2,000 tickets sold, which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.  Tickets will be sold until 2:00 pm on March 4, 2011 (“Drawing Date”) or until 2,000 tickets are sold, whichever comes first.  Each ticket costs $50.  Three tickets cost $100.  There is no limit on the number of tickets that may be purchased by an individual.

 

There will be three (3) prize packages awarded:

  • First Prize: The winner will choose one of the following 3 prizes

  • Second Prize:  The second prize winner will choose among the 2 remaining prizes

  • Third Prize:  The third prize winner will win the remaining one prize.

  • Extravagant Shopping Spree

    • $500 Great Lakes Crossing Outlets gift certificate, Auburn Hills, MI

  • Dinner for 8 by Annabel Cohen

 

Friendship Circle reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute any of the foregoing prizes, or any portions of the foregoing prizes, with replacements of similar character and value (as determined by Friendship Circle in its sole and absolute discretion).  In the event that Friendship Circle elects to replace any prize or portion thereof with a substitute prize or portion thereof prior to the Drawing Date, a notice shall be posted at www.SuperRaffle.org and at the Friendship Circle, located at 6892 West Maple Road, West Bloomfield, MI, indicating such change prior to the Drawing Date.  In the event that Friendship Circle elects to replace any prize or portion thereof with a substitute prize or portion thereof after the Drawing Date, the winner of such prize will be notified in writing of the change. No entrant shall have any claim or demand whatsoever against Friendship Circle and the respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, agents and employees of any of the above organizations arising from or related to any prize substitution made by Friendship Circle in accordance with this paragraph.

The odds of winning a prize depend upon the actual number of tickets sold.

Winners are solely responsible for paying all applicable federal, state and local taxes, and all other expenses associated with any prize not explicitly stated herein. All prizes are provided “as is” with no guarantees or warranties from Friendship Circle.

Each day, all entries received will be counted to determine if the total sold to date exceeds 2,000.  All entries received on the day that the 2,000 limit is met will be held separately in a group to determine which entries will be counted.  The first entries drawn from that group until the total of 2,000 is met will be included in the final raffle.  All other entries and personal checks received that day (or thereafter) will be returned, or a credit given on their credit card.

 

Eligibility:

You must be at least 18 years old in order to purchase a raffle ticket.  Employees of JCC, JVS, JARC and The Friendship Circle are eligible to purchase tickets.

 

Selection of Winners:

The winning tickets will be drawn at random and the numbers announced on March 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Jewish Community Center during the Kids All Together, a day of family fun, (6600 West Maple Road, West Bloomfield, MI).  Friendship Circle shall have the final decision on any and all claims concerning this contest and reserves the right to disqualify any contestant if these House Rules (“Rules”) are not followed.  All decisions of Friendship Circle as to the administration of this raffle shall be final.

The holders of the winning tickets do not need to be present at the drawing to win.  Each winner will be notified by telephone, or by email.  The winners will be required to present positive identification for verification of the winning tickets.

 

General Conditions:

By entering this raffle, each entrant (i) accepts and agrees to these Rules and the decisions of Friendship Circle which shall be final and binding; and (ii) waives any right to claim ambiguity in the Super Raffle or these Official Rules.  Each winner will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and a publicity release, within 7 days of notification.  In the event of non-compliance or if a winner of a prize cannot be located, that winner shall forfeit the prize and an alternate winner of the prize shall be selected from the original pool of raffle tickets.  By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless any person or entity associated with the production, judging, sponsorship, advertising or administration of the Super Raffle, including, without limitation, Friendship Circle and the respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, agents, and employees of any of the above organizations (collectively, the “released parties”) from any and all liability arising from, or related to participation in the Super Raffle or the acceptance of the prizes.  Except where prohibited by law, the winner’s purchase of a Super Raffle ticket and acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for JARC, JVS, JCC or the Friendship Circle to use the winners name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, and city and state address for promotional or advertising purposes in connection with this Super Raffle and similar promotions on a worldwide basis and in all forms of media, now or hereafter known, in perpetuity, without review, permission or other compensation.

 

Limitation of Liability:

Friendship Circle is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, including, without limitation, that which is caused by web site users, tampering, hacking or by any of the equipment utilized in the Super Raffle (the “Raffle”), or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries in the Raffle.  Friendship Circle shall have no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of web site or entries in processing the Raffle entries.  Friendship Circle is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or entrants.  If for any reason, the Raffle is not capable of running as planned, including without limitation, any cause beyond the control of Friendship Circle, Friendship Circle reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Raffle with refund to the entrants upon cancellation or termination.

 

Arbitration:

Any claim or controversy between any participant in the Super Raffle and Friendship Circle arising out of or relating to the Super Raffle or these rules and regulations shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association utilizing one (1) arbitrator to be heard in Southfield, Michigan unless other procedures are agreed upon in writing between the Parties.  The determination of the arbitrator in connection with interpreting these Rules shall be binding and final upon all Parties.  The award of the arbitrator may be filed with the clerk of the appropriate court having jurisdiction in Oakland County, Michigan.  Judgment may be rendered by the court upon the arbitration award and execution may be issued upon the judgment in accordance with the statutes of the State of Michigan and the Michigan Court Rules.
